WPC Industrial Contractors is proud of its proactive approach to safety and is committed to offering our employees a safe work environment by insuring that safe and healthy work practices are a part of their everyday operation.
Therefore, WPC has developed a corporate Safety Training Manual that is reviewed on a quarterly basis by the Safety Committee, which is comprised of our Safety Director, the Safety Training Coordinator, a Professional Engineer and several Project Superintendents. Because all of WPC’s projects conform to the OSHA Safety and Health Act of 1970, the committee reviews new OSHA requirements and makes adjustments as necessary to ensure an up-to-date and comprehensive training manual.
In addition, WPC’s Safety Training Coordinator is an OSHA certified safety trainer who conducts safety trainings to ensures each of our projects are supervised by a Superintendent who has completed 30-hours of safety training and is a “certified competent person”. These Superintendents are also trained to evaluate the construction site to:
- Ensure the prevention of occupationally induced injuries and illnesses.
- Conduct weekly safety meetings that cover all aspects of construction safety.
- Encourage employees to be proactive in offering suggestions to improve site safety.
- File weekly accident reports for review by the Safety Director and Safety Committee to identify areas of improvement.
Our objective at WPC is to have a Health and Safety Program that will reduce the number of injuries and illnesses to an absolute minimum, not merely in keeping with, but surpassing OSHA requirements. Our goal is nothing less than zero accidents and injuries.
